North Queensland Chiropractic Paediatric Forum

We are thrilled to announce we are returning to North Queensland in 2025!

After the Success of the 2022 Forum, we’re coming back!

This time bigger and better. We have a weekend lineup designed for the whole team with three streams focusing on the school aged child, the sporty child and the practice leadership stream. We’d encourage you to come along, bring your CAs and get ready for another great weekend of learning in Sunny Queensland


Keynote Speakers


Luke Nelson

Luke is a titled Sports & Exercise Chiropractor, Running Coach, and Strength Coach with over 20 years of experience in private practice in Melbourne. He has lectured extensively across Australia and internationally on sports injuries. As an avid fitness enthusiast, Luke has completed 9 marathons, an ultra-marathon, and two Ironman triathlons. In recognition of his expertise, Luke was awarded Fellowship status by the Australasian Institute of Chiropractic Education in 2019, inducted as a Fellow of the Australian Sports Medicine Federation in 2024, and honoured as the 2022 ACA Chiropractor of the Year for his contributions to the profession.



Christian Fludder

Dr Christian completed his Masters of Chiropractic from Macquarie University in 2005, and since then has completed several post-graduate seminars and certificates in a range of fields - paediatrics, kinesiology, neurology, nutrition and methylation, and most recently has attained the Diplomate of the Australian College of Chiropractic Paediatrics. For the last few years, Dr Christian has been working alongside Dr Braden producing documents and research articles promoting chiropractic paediatrics. Dr Christian has been involved in the teaching of the Diplomate program since 2015, and has also been invited to present to chiropractors, chiropractic students, and community groups across Australia and internationally. Somewhere in between all that, he has created the Paediatric Chiropractic Masterclass series, hosts a podcast and has recently relocated back to Brisbane and opened a practice!



Braden Keil

Dr Braden Keil graduated as a chiropractor in 1987 and then completed a Master degree in chiropractic paediatrics. Dr Keil is one of only a few chiropractors in Australia to have gained this qualification. Dr Keil was awarded a Fellowship by the International College of Chiropractors (FICC) during 2001. Dr Keil is the author of the world's first full time Fellowship program in Chiropractic Paediatrics and has had a paediatric only practice since 2000.

Dr Keil currently presents a 21 Module, two year Diplomate program in chiropractic paediatrics around Australia; permitting chiropractors to improve their ability to provide better care for their infant and children patients.

With four children ranging from 22 to 31 years of age, Dr Keil has had a lot of practical experience with childhood issues!



Shae Prince (Nutiritonist and Naturopath)

Shae is a holistic Naturopath and Certified Nutritionist. 

Completed an Advanced Diploma in Naturopathy in 2006, Certificate IV in Nutrition (Sports Nutrition Advisor & Health and Wellness Coach through Vast Fitness Academy in 2022. Member of NHAA (Naturopaths and Herbalists Association of Australia) and NCA (Nutrition Council Australia). Shae is a mother of two and grew up in Far North Queensland as a competitive active child, playing various sports and appreciating the outdoors. Shae has decades of experience and specialises in:

  • Weight Loss and Metabolic Health
  • Pre and Post Natal Health
  • Thyroid
  • Hormone Imbalances

Shae focuses on health by investigating and understanding the big picture. This is achieved with emphasis on delivering holistic treatment with a food first approach, whilst supporting the depths of various body systems, correct nutritional deficiencies and implementing strong nutritional and lifestyle foundations.Shae will work through mindset and lifestyle advice through a sustainable approach to achieve optimal health and longevity. Shae’s passion lies in helping women understand their bodies and become empowered with their health. In more recent years Shae’s passion for Women’s Health has unfolded to align with her own personal journey through the season of perimenopause and her daughters journey navigating teen years.

Saturday 7:45 am start

Combined Stream (All Chiropractors)

  • Radiology Refresher: Ever wondered what the EOS markings mean? Or when you should refer for an X ray instead of an EOS Scan? QLD Xray Radiologists will be taking us through a radiology refresher with some important guidance on when to refer for what.. and a little refresher on what you might see on some paediatric imaging.
  • Good notes and why they are vital: How do your clincial notes stack up? Hear some real life examples of when notes have been needed and why having a good template is so vital.

The Sporty Child

  • Growing Pains or Game Stoppers? Navigating Teen Athlete Injuries: Join Luke Nelson for 2 sessions designed to  equip pediatric chiropractors with the tools to confidently assess and manage lower limb injuries in teenage athletes. With a focus on the hip, knee, and ankle, we’ll explore how injury patterns vary across sports and highlight key growth-related vulnerabilities in the adolescent population. You'll gain insight into evidence-informed management strategies, return-to-sport guidelines, and the red flags that may suggest overload or poor training planning. Through real-world examples and case discussions, this session will leave you better prepared to guide young athletes back to doing what they love—safely and efficiently

  • Feeding your teenage athletes:  Ever wondered how nutrition will impact their peformance and healing? Are they eating enough for the training that they are doing? Are they getting the nutrients that they need? How does the menstrual cycle impact thier trianing and what might that mean for their nutrition? Join Shae Prince for an insightful session on how to make sure your teenage atheletes are meeting their nutrition needs. 

  • The foot and its importance in lower limb management. If you're needing a little more clarificaiton on when and how to diagnose an overuse injury in the foot, this session is for you. Dr Braden Kiel will be breaking  down some common foot conditions in sporty children, and how to manage them in practice. The hands on session on sunday will go over some assessment and peripheral adjustments to support your sporty kids in practice.

The School Aged Child 

  • Neurological assessment of the school aged child: So you know you need to do a neurodevelopmental assessment, but WHY? Why are you testing primative reflexes? What does it mean when they persist? What might it mean for our school aged kids? Dr Christian Fludder will be taking you through 2 hours on the importance of a Neurodevelopmental assessment of the school aged child.
  • Funky walkers and what that might mean: Ever wondered what to do when a parent asks about their childs funny gait? Or how to assess a child that is toe - walking? Dr Braden Keil wil be delivering an informative session on how to assess and manage gait and foot conditions in children. This will be supported by some hands on time on Sunday.
  • Nutrition for Kids: Is it different for primary school aged children? Join us for a deep dive into the nutirional needs of children and how to ascertain whether they are being met.

The Practice Team

  • Chiropractic and Kids - Why and What's changed: Join Dr Christian as he reflects on the changes in the paediatric landscape and how we can better care for our children. Ever wondered why kids need chiropractic? Want to be able to communicate this better with families who ask over the phone? Need some confidence in your explanation? This is the session for you.
  • Nutrition fundamentals:  Naturopath and Nutritionist Shae Prince will be breaking down nutrition needs over the lifespan, and how they change  through childhood and into adulthood.  CAs and Practice Managers are often master observers of behavior and Shae will be breaking down how some of the nutritional deficiencies seen across childhood may be observed from the front desk.
  • Working with Parents: Parents missing appointments? Asking questions on the phone?  Watching a pregnant woman get stressed when another parent is talking about their birth experience out the front? Wondering how to re-assure them you are the best practice to care for thier child? Dr Holly Davies will be walking you through the language you use with parents to support them in practice and how to work with them as they navigate their childs care.
  • Social media - managing the minefield: We get it. The rules are confusing. Can you post it? Will you get in trouble? Is it meeting the guidelines? Dr Leanne Cross will be walking you through some of the Social Media guidelines regarding care for children and giving some practical applicable advice so you can make the most of your social media with certainty!
Saturday Night Social – the Metropole Hotel

Come along for a fun Saturday evening social with your team. Enjoy a meal and drinks in a relaxing atmosphere and maybe even take out the trivia prize!

Sunday Hands On

9am Start: Case study + tutorial workshops.

We are running the Sunday morning hands on session for our Chiropractors with focus on the  assessment and management of peripheral adjustments in children and appropriate force modification. We will be starting with  case study then working through adjustments  and content we covered on Saturday. There are no CA sessions planned for Sunday however they are welcome to attend the hands on session.
