The Australian College of Chiropractic Paediatrics (ACCP)  was formed and is run by paediatric chiropractors to best represent and support the delivery of paediatric chiropractic care in Australia. The development of this College has been a lengthy process behind the scenes by a group of paediatric trained chiropractors as a solution to a perceived need. Our profession as a whole is under intense scrutiny – especially when it comes to the care we provide for children.

More so than ever we need strong, evidence-based responses when misinformed opinions or threats are made against the provision of appropriate chiropractic care for children.

The ACCP has been formed as a platform to represent paediatric chiropractors with a united front and to provide the informed responses necessary for the media and the CAA. In addition to providing media representation in relation to paediatric chiropractic, the ACCP also exists to :

  • Provide valuable information in the form of policy documents, clinical guidelines, handouts and patient flyers for our members

  • Maintain a current nation-wide membership directory to better aid those searching for a paediatric chiropractor.

  • Develop and support research into chiropractic paediatrics.

  • Improve public awareness as to the efficacy of chiropractic for paediatric conditions

  • Promote and encourage the wider practice of chiropractic paediatrics within Australia

Full Membership of the ACCP does require a minimum of 2-year post-graduate study in the field of paediatrics – a decision that the committee arrived at to ensure that the membership suitably reflected the aims of this association. While some courses have been approved by the accreditation committee and graduates are now eligible for Full Membership of the ACCP, not all courses have yet completed this process. If you are unsure if your course has been accredited, we are able to process applicants on an individual basis with supporting documents. A list of accredited programs can be found here.

We also have an option of Associate Membership, and while it may not open you to all the full member entitlements, it will help in forming a strong and unified voice for the Chiropractic profession.

We welcome your interest in joining the Australian College of Chiropractic Paediatrics and helping form the strong and united voice chiropractic paediatrics needs.
